BURN UP THE GROUND
CU ran for a season-high 247 yards in a 34-31 win over Glenville State at Callaghan Stadium Saturday afternoon. It marked the second straight week that Concord went over 200 yards on the ground, marking the first time with back-to-back 200-yard rushing games since November 2014 against UVa.-Wise and Notre Dame. Concord's three 200-yard games on the ground this year are the most since the 2014 squad had nine in 14 games. Individually, sophomore running back Curtis Clark had his second straight 100-yard game as he ripped off 109 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Fellow sophomore running back Jayden Williams just missed the century mark on the ground with 98 yards on 15 carries. CU is first in the MEC in rushing touchdowns (18) while ranking third in rushing yards per game (187.8).

EXTEND THE STREAK
The Mountain Lions were in danger of having a nine-game streak—that dates back to last season—of having at least one takeaway snapped against Glenville State. In the final minute of the contest, sophomore defensive back Berlin Campfort snagged his second interception in as many games to seal the victory over the Pioneers and extending Concord's streak of at least one takeaway to 10 games. Campfort tied junior defensive back Ar'Terrian Godfrey for the team lead in interceptions as CU recorded its eighth interception of the year. Additionally, the Maroon and Gray is ahead of last year's pace when they recorded 16 takeaways (14 interceptions, two fumble recoveries). Concord has 13 takeaways this season. West Virginia Wesleyan (18) and Concord (13) are first and third, respectively, in the MEC in takeaways this season.

2K KARGMAN
On Saturday, graduate quarterback Devin Kargman became the eighth quarterback in program history to reach 2,000 passing yards in a season. Kargman completed 20 or more passes for just the second time in a game this year as he finished 20-for-35 against Glenville State with 272 yards. Kargman is now at 2,023 passing yards for the year and ranks 10th in Division II. The Camden, New Jersey n ative now has the 15th 2,000-yard passing season in program history. He is 11th in Division II in passing touchdowns (18) as he now has thrown at least one touchdown in all seven games in 2026 after connecting with sophomore wide receiver Dom Collins on a third-quarter touchdown. The last CU quarterback with at least one passing touchdown in seven straight games was Jack Mangel in 2022 when he threw one or more touchdowns in all 11 games.

STUFF THE RUN
The Concord rush defense had its best game in more than a decade as it held Glenville State to 18 rushing yards—the fewest allowed for a Mountain Lion defense since the 2015 season. CU produced eight negative plays against Glenville State as it limited the Pioneers to 1.3 yards per rushing attempt. Two of the three tackles for sophomore defensive lineman Joshua Smith were for loss as he threw in a sack. Sophomore defensive lineman Jacorey Jackson and senior defensive lineman Nick Mercer also teamed up on a sack. Concord is going up against a West Virginia Wesleyan offense that averages 117 yards on the ground, eighth in the MEC. After Saturday, CU is up to sixth in the MEC in rushing defense. The 18 yards allowed by the Mountain Lions were the fewest in any conference game in 2026.

BACK IN BUCKHANNON
Williams makes his return to West Virginia Wesleyan where he spent the 2025 season as the Bobcats' leading rusher with 438 yards, averaging four yards per tote. Last season, the Charlotte, North Carolina native ran for 61 yards on 17 attempts at Concord in the Mountain Lions' 31-21 win. Williams goes into Saturday's contest with a chance to surpass his 2025 season rushing total. He has 385 yards rushing, and is coming off the career-high performance versus Glenville State. Williams ranks eighth in the conference in rushing and is tied for third in the MEC in yards per carry at 6.6 with West Virginia State's Devin Cox. His five rushing touchdowns are fifth in the conference in 2026. Junior running back Greg Burrell leads the team with 390 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground this year.

TOP TWO
Saturday's game pits the top two wide receivers in the MEC against each other, West Virginia Wesleyan's Amari Colon-Brown and Concord's Dom Collins. Colon-Brown is second in Division II in receiving yards (948) while Collins is fourth (850). Both pass catchers have 10 receiving touchdowns this season. Collins has at least one score in all seven games for the Mountain Lions this fall. Colon-Brown has scored in seven of Wesleyan's eight games. Colon-Brown is coming off a career-high 10 catches for 143 yards and a score against MEC-leading West Liberty. Collins notched his fifth straight 100-yard receiving game by hauling in eight receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown versus Glenville State. While at Glenville State last season, Colon-Brown was shutout as he did not have a reception in CU's 42-30 loss to the Pioneers in 2025.

BEAT THE BOBCATS
The Mountain Lions put their eight-game win streak against West Virginia Wesleyan to the test Saturday afternoon on the road. Though Concord has not lost to the Bobcats since a 23-18 loss in 2017, the wins have not always been easy for the Maroon and Gray. Two years ago, in Buckhannon, Concord needed a safety in the final minute of the game to prevail, 33-31. In 2022, the game was decided by less than three points as CU came up with an interception in the final 90 seconds to preserve a 34-32 victory. And all the way back in 2018, Concord kicked a field goal at the final buzzer to win 34-31. In last year's 31-21 win, Clark had a 92-yard kickoff return for a score in the first half. Defensively, CU had a 2025 season-high seven sacks, including a half sack each for senior linebacker Brodee Rice and sophomore defensive lineman Tytus Bridges.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
3- Consecutive games won for Concord, the first three-game winning streak since the final three games of the 2022 season.

10- Explosive runs (rushes for 10 or more yards) against Glenville State, a season high.

317- Yards of offense for Concord last season versus WVWC as CU was outgained, 355-317.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
The three wins West Virginia Wesleyan has stacked up are the most in a single season for WVWC since a 5-6 campaign in 2017. Former Glenville State head coach Mike Kellar has transformed the roster in his first season in Buckhannon, bringing Colon-Brown and running back Jeremiah King with him from GSU. King ran for 1,067 yards last season at GSU and comes in Saturday with 524 yards on the ground, fourth most in the MEC. Liam McGuire and Mike Evans have both played quarterback for WVWC this season, but McGuire has more 100 pass attempts than Evans. McGuire has thrown for 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns. Defensively, former Wheeling defensive coordinator Mott Gaymon calls the defense, and two of his former players are among the league leaders in tackles. Dylan Newman (56) is fourth while Kameron Reynolds (48) is eighth in the MEC in tackles. Kellar was the head coach at CU from 2009-10, going 14-8.
