Stubbs Voted MEC Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Sophomore guard Kenyah Stubbs of the Concord University women's basketball team has been named Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
 
Stubbs, a native of Hanford, California, stuffed the stat sheet with averages of 25.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals in a 2-0 week for the Mountain Lions. Overall, she shot 55.2 percent (21-for-38) from the floor and was 8-for-14 at the foul line.
 
On the road at Wheeling, Stubbs scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. She tacked on five rebounds and two steals in the 66-54 win.
 
Stubbs had a career outing in the home victory over West Liberty dropping in a career-high 32 points. It is tied for the third-most points scored by an MEC player this season and is tied for first with 13 field goals made. She finished 13-for-24 from the floor. Stubbs filled up the rest of the box score as well, collecting six rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a block in the 93-77 win.
 
She has broken into the top 10 in the MEC in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game (fifth). She also averages 3.0 assists per game (eighth) and 1.9 steals per game (fifth).
 
Stubbs and the Mountain Lions travel to Charleston to take on the Golden Eagles Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
