ATHENS, W.Va. - The tenth-ranked Concord University men's soccer team fell to the Charleston Golden Eagles 2-1 in a Mountain East Conference clash at Callaghan Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
The first 30 minutes saw both teams have few chances with the best chance coming from Charleston (3-0-2, 2-0-1 MEC) in the sixth minute as it hit the post.
However, in the 34th minute Charleston found the opener, taking a 1-0 lead.
Concord (4-1, 3-1 MEC) had two more shots on goal within the last five minutes of the first half, but couldn't equalize.
After the break, Concord came out firing as it earned multiple corners and throw-ins inching closer to a goal.
The Mountain Lions found the tying goal in the 52nd minute, as junior forward
Dominique Malhomme calmly fired a shot into the bottom right corner off of a throw-in that lingered in the box for his first Concord goal. Senior forward
Richard Henry picked up his first assist of the season on the play.
In the 67th minute, Charleston broke into the box and fired a cross that took a deflection into the net and pushed the Golden Eagles ahead 2-1.

CU was outshot 18-6 in the game, but Concord only trailed in shots on goal by one, 5-4.
Correa was the only CU player with multiple shots in the game. Senior goalkeeper
Nathan Scargill stopped four shots in his first shot of the season.
Concord heads back on the road, as the Mountain Lions take on West Liberty Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in MEC action.
