PIPESTEM, W.Va. – The Concord University women's golf team won the Pipestem Collegiate that wrapped up Tuesday afternoon at Pipestem State Park.
Concord recorded rounds of 348 and 352 as it held off Glenville State by four strokes (700-704) for the team title.
Freshman
Kendra Lugo paced the Mountain Lions as she finished second after rounds of 79 and 80 for a two-day total of 159. Lugo tallied a birdie in each round. Her first-round birdie came on the long 543-yard, par-5 16
th hole. She added a birdie on the par-4, 331-yard 12
th hole Tuesday. Additionally, Lugo parred seven of the first eight holes to start Tuesday's round.
Sophomore Alley Denny scored a pair of 89s to place eighth with a total of 178. Denny had a birdie, four on the par-4, 438-yard fourth hole in Tuesday's round. Fellow sophomore
Sara Matos Tamargo was two strokes back of Denny with a two-day total of 180 (92, 88).
Freshman
Reagan Friel finished 13
th with a total of 183. Friel carded an 88 Monday before coming back with a 95 Tuesday.
Paced by an even-par round of 72 Monday, Wheeling's Ella Keffer was the individual medalist with a total of 150.
CU has its final fall regular-season tune-up September 22-23 at the Larry Edgell Classic at Green Hills Country Club in Fairmont, West Virginia.
