BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team got a late goal from junior forward
Issa El Assal to down West Virginia Wesleyan, 1-0, Sunday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference game at Culpepper Stadium.
The Mountain Lions (4-0, 3-0 MEC) remain undefeated on the season and will await a matchup with nationally-ranked Charleston 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Callaghan Stadium.
Throughout the contest, neither team could get on the front foot as the first 45 minutes featured three combined shots. In the first 20 minutes of the second half, CU peppered the WVWC (0-3, 0-3 MEC) goal with four of its 13 shots in the contest, but the Bobcats kept each attempt out.
With time winding down in the final 10 minutes, Concord lined up one of its five corners in the game. The set piece by senior defender

All five Wesleyan shots in the game were on goal as Olivera collected his first solo shutout of the season.
The Mountain Lions held West Virginia Wesleyan without a corner in the game, and had 55 percent of the possession.
