Results
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Concord University women's cross country team competed in a Division I-heavy field at the Southern Showcase Friday morning at John Hunt Park.
Concord was 10
th among non-Division I teams in a field where 34 of the 52 competing were Division I. Concord 1,256 points and was 44
th overall.
Results were delayed  due to a timing error at the meet.
Freshman
Violet Wall broke the 19-minute barrier for the 5,000-meter course as she crossed in 18:57 to lead CU for a second straight week. Senior
Katy Walkup came through in 19:21.
Junior
Sara Turner ran 19:44. Freshman
Avery Lilly sported a time of 20:16.
Sophomore
Kate Kelly was next through for the Mountain Lions as she stopped the clock at 20:43. Junior
Charlotte McGinnis competed the scorers for Concord with a showing of 21:46. Freshman
Emma Willie was two seconds back of McGinnis. The final two athletes for the Maroon and Gray were juniors
Piper Doughton (22:03) and
Abbey Londeree (22:05).
CU has the rest of September off before competing at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky October 4.
