EARLY HONORS
Junior outside hitter
Chloe Thompson was named the Mountain East Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week after her performance this past weekend. Thompson picked up two double-doubles over the weekend. She totaled 13 kills and 10 digs against Bloomsburg and her 14 kills and 16 digs powered CU past Shepherd in five sets. She is second in the MEC in kills per set (3.46) and 10th in digs per set (3.00).
SERVICE SUCCESS
CU used its serve as a real weapon at the Virginia State Classic, totaling 30 aces across the weekend. Junior libero
Allie Davis leads the squad with 0.69 aces per set which would more than double the 0.32 aces per set mark that led the team a season ago.
HISTORY ON THE HORIZON

Meg Williams is encroaching on the Concord career kills leaderboard. She is currently 11th in school history with 820 kills and needs just 12 more to tie Kim Kincer who is 10th in CU history with 832 kills.
INCREASING PRODUCTION
Sophomore right side
Maddie Stull notched 53 kills in 31 matches played in her freshman campaign. Through just four matches in 2025, she has 25 kills already. That is good for third best on the Mountain Lions. Not only is she increasing her output, but also her efficiency as she's got the second highest hitting percentage (.229) on the team.
CAVALIER CLASSIC HISTORY
The last time that Concord played in the Cavalier Classic, the Mountain Lions swept the competition. That was back in 2023, and was also the last they started 4-0 on the season. They have historically dominated the host of the tournament, the UVa.-Wise Cavaliers, holding a 13-4 advantage in the all-time head-to-head matchup and winning three of the last five encounters.
SCOUTING THE KING TORNADOS
King's volleyball program has gotten off to a 1-2 start in 2025, picking up their only win against Auburn University Montgomery. In 2024, KU finished 11-12 overall and 9-9 in conference play. The Tornado return their leader in kills per set from a season ago, Gracia Love. The Tornado were picked to finish eighth in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll out of 16 total teams.
SCOUTING THE UVA.-WISE CAVALIERS
UVa.-Wise has improved their win total every season since 2020, finishing last season at 12-16 overall with a conference record of 6-12. To start 2025, they currently sit at 2-3 and dropped their first conference tilt against Carson-Newman in four sets. Led by freshman outside hitter Mia Poag and senior setter Piper Suddeth, the Cavaliers will look once again to improve from season to season. In the South Atlantic Conference preseason poll, the Cavaliers were slotted eighth out of 12 teams.
SCOUTING THE BARTON BULLDOGS
The Barton Bulldogs have gotten off to a solid start this season, going 2-1 in their first weekend of play, taking down two MEC teams in Davis & Elkins and Frostburg State before falling to Newberry. In 2024, they went 8-19 on the season and 4-13 in conference play. The Bulldogs have to replace two of their top three players in kills per set from a season ago. Sophomore Bailey McIntyre looks to lead a younger core for the Bulldogs this season. They were projected to finish 12th in Conference Carolinas ahead of this season.
