Women's Basketball Unveils 2025-26 Schedule

ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University head women's basketball coach Tesla Southcott released the program's schedule for the 2025-26 season Wednesday afternoon.

The Mountain Lions are scheduled for 28 games this winter with eight against non-conference foes and 20 versus the Mountain East Conference. Concord will play the other 10 conference schools in a double-round robin format.

CU opens the 2025-26 campaign at home when it hosts the MEC-PSAC Challenge at the Carter Center November 14-15. First up for Concord will be Seton Hill before the Maroon and Gray takes on Lock Haven November 15. Fellow MEC school Fairmont State is the fourth school in the MEC-PSAC Challenge.

The three-game homestand concludes November 19 when CU faces Bluefield State for the one and only time in the 2025-26 season. UVa.-Wise will be the first road trip of the year November 22. And Concord wraps up non-conference action November 25 at home versus Winston-Salem State and December 1 at Ferrum.

Two days later, Concord travels to West Virginia State for the first conference clash before hosting Charleston December 6. The final home game of the 2025 portion of the slate comes December 10 versus Frostburg State. Two road games round out the month of December, with a visit to Point Park December 17 before heading to Fairmont State December 20.

CU opens January with a contest versus Salem January 3 before traveling to West Virginia Wesleyan January 7. The next four games are alternating home and away with Davis & Elkins (January 10) and West Liberty (January 17) highlighting the home schedule.

After a trip to Charleston January 21, consecutive home games against Glenville State (January 24) and Fairmont State (January 28) along with a trip to Frostburg State (January 31) round out the first month of 2026.

The final non-conference game comes February 4 at Salem. The lone Saturday home game of February is February 7 when CU hosts Point Park. Remaining home games for the year are against West Virginia Wesleyan (February 11), Wheeling (February 18) and West Virginia State (February 25).

Concord's final regular season game is February 28 at Glenville State with the MEC Tournament taking place March 4-8 at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia.

SCHEDULE NOTES
-The 15 home games for the Mountain Lions this winter are the most since the 2006-07 season when CU went 14-1 at home and 21-9 overall.

-In the non-conference portion of the slate, Concord welcomes UVa.-Wise head coach Jamie Cluesman who is a CU Hall of Famer back to the Carter Center. And Coach Southcott returns to her alma mater when the Mountain Lions play at Ferrum.

-Dating back to the 2022-23 season, six of the last nine contests between Concord and Frostburg State have been decided by seven points or less with two going to overtime. The teams have also met in the MEC Tournament the last two years.

-In the last meeting between Concord and Bluefield State, CU edged the Big Blues 74-73 in overtime in November 2023. Last November, the Mountain Lions coasted to an 85-72 win in a game they never trailed.
