ATHENS, W.Va. – First-year Concord University head men's and women's cross country and track & field coach
Jonathan Kigel has announced the cross country programs' schedule for the upcoming fall campaign.
Traditionally, Concord has opened the season at Virginia Tech. However, this fall the Mountain Lions will begin the year at the Catawba Invite hosted by Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina September 6. The following weekend, September 12, CU takes its longest trip of the season as it competes in the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State in Huntsville, Alabama.
For the first time since 2016, Concord travels to the Greater Louisville Classic in Kentucky. The Mountain Lions raced at the University of Louisville from 2009-11 and then again in 2016, but has taken a nine-year hiatus. The Greater Louisville Classic is scheduled for October 4.
The final regular-season meet is the annual Concord Alumni Invite October 10 at Pipestem State Park as part of Homecoming Weekend.
The Mountain East Conference Championship will be October 25, back at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia. And the Atlantic Regional Championship will be November 8 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.
In his first season, Kigel welcomes back five of the top seven men's athletes from last season in senior
