KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Concord University men's basketball team has been honored with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award for the second straight season, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

Corey Boston was placed on the NABC Honors Court for a second consecutive time for his work in the classroom in his final season in the Maroon and Gray.
As a team, Concord was honored after sporting a 3.21 GPA throughout the academic year. To qualify for the award, Concord needed a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Away from the classroom, CU went 17-11 this past winter while making the Mountain East Conference Tournament Semifinals for a second straight year.
For Boston, the Lafayette, Alabama native graduated from The Campus Beautiful with a degree in health science and a 3.74 GPA. Boston was named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) in the spring for the second time in his career. On the court, Boston averaged 16.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game as he was named All-Mountain East Conference Second Team.
To qualify for NABC Honors Court, players of junior, senior or graduate student standing must have a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher.
