MEC TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS
Concord begins the weekend tied with Glenville State for third in the MEC South Division. The top three teams from each division qualify for the Mountain East Conference Tournament that starts May 7 at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston, West Virginia. Below are the scenarios in which Concord can clinch a spot in the conference postseason.
- Win three or all four games of the four games against Glenville State
- Split the four-game series AND have West Virginia State win either zero, two or three games against Charleston
- Splitting the four-game series with Glenville State AND West Virginia State winning all four games would leave the Mountain Lions out of the postseason, based on record against the top team in the division.

SENIOR DAY SENDOFF
Prior to Sunday's doubleheader, head coach
Drew Bailey and the CU baseball program will recognize 12 seniors in their final home games. The group includes pitcher
Dalton Benson, infielder
Brendan Brady, infielder
Tyson Burke, outfielder
D.J. Christian Jr., utility
MJ Hunter, pitcher
Coby Ingle, outfielder
Demetri Jamison, infielder
Ty Livingston, infielder
Jayden Nixon, pitcher
Zach Powell, pitcher

AJ Strickland. Hunter has played in over 190 career games at Concord, and has been an All-MEC Second Team selection each of the last two years. Jamison landed on the All-MEC Second Team in 2024 while Christian was an All-MEC First Team pick two seasons ago. Powell leads the MEC in innings pitched (67.2) and is top five in strikeouts (54). Brady has appeared in 128 career games over three seasons and was an all-conference performer in 2023. Over the last four seasons, Concord's four-year seniors have won 111 games.
BROTHERS BASH
Heading into the final weekend, junior infielder
Matthew DiSanti and sophomore infielder
Nick DiSanti are among the top hitters in the MEC. Matt leads the conference in total hits (65) while Nick is third with 59 hits. The DiSanti brothers are seeking to become the first set of Concord teammates with 60 or more hits in a season since five Mountain Lions pulled off the feat in 2022. M. DiSanti enters the four-game series with Glenville State having recorded an RBI in six straight games with eight of his 25 RBI for the season coming over that stretch. He has hit safely in 37 of 46 games this year. Meanwhile, N. DiSanti had two or more hits in seven of the 18 games played during the month of April.
HITTER'S PARADISE
Though just two of the four games between Concord and Glenville State will be played at Kenny Greenlief Field in Glenville, the home run ball could play a significant part in the series. Known as a home run park, GSU's pitching staff has only allowed 29 home runs, third fewest in the MEC. Conversely, Concord has hit the third-most home runs in the MEC with 45. However, the Mountain Lions will look to get back on track after being held without a home run in the Charleston series. In fact of Concord's 30 hits in the series with Charleston, only two went for extra bases. Junior catchers
Kaden Swaim (13 home runs) and
Austin Hear (nine home runs) are second and fourth in the MEC in home runs. GSU's home runs leaders are Colby Gray and Zach Laurie, each with nine, and Zac Bayor with eight. Â
