STAYING AT THE TOP
Heading into the weekend, Concord is still leading the MEC with a .329 team batting average. The Mountain Lions are also second in the conference in home runs (45). Individually, junior infielder Matthew DiSanti is hitting .411 this season which leads the conference. He is only one of two players above .400 on the year. Additionally, DiSanti has hit safely in 33 of 42 games this year, and has a conference-best 58 hits. In the power department, junior catcher Kaden Swaim is tied for first in home runs (13) and is second in RBI (44). And Swaim is second in slugging percentage in the MEC (.730). And after hitting a home run in his third straight game Tuesday versus Lenoir-Rhyne, junior catcher Austin Heart has moved up to a tie for second in the MEC in home runs with nine.

REBOUND WEEKEND
CU heads into the weekend set versus Charleston trying to stop a seven-game losing streak. Despite dropping recent games, the Mountain Lions remain very much in the mix for the MEC South Division title. Concord starts the weekend two games back of first-place Charleston as CU is also trying to stop a seven-game losing streak versus UC that dates back to the 2023 season. Sophomore pitcher Jake Robinson had one of the best outings of his career last year at Charleston. The Raleigh, North Carolina native pitched six shutout innings as he collected five strikeouts, but received no decision in a 2-1 loss. Over the last seven games, senior infielder Tyson Burke is 9-for-22 with three home runs and eight RBI.

BATS AND ARMS
As one of the most-potent offenses in the MEC, the Mountain Lions face one of the best pitching staffs in the conference when Charleston comes to Athens. UC is third in the MEC in ERA (5.88). And the 15 home runs, the Golden Eagles have allowed are the fewest in the league with Point Park being second at 21. Though Swaim and Hear lead the charge for Concord in home runs, seven other players have hit at least two home runs this season. The 45 homers that the Mountain Lions have launched are the fifth most in program history in a single season. Last year's squad is tied for third with the 2003 team that each hit 46. Junior outfielder Korbin Bostic and senior outfielder Demetri Jamison have both hit five home runs while Burke and sophomore infielder Nick DiSanti and senior utility MJ Hunter have three homers each.

Offensively, Evan Ulrich is batting .410 with four home runs and 24 RBI. Casey Finck missed nearly a month of the season, but is hitting .394 with six home runs and 21 RBI in 21 games. The Golden Eagles have won five straight games and 10 of their last 12 contests ahead of this weekend's series.
