SERIES HISTORY: Lenoir-Rhyne leads 3-0

ALL-TIME MEETINGS VERSUS LENOIR-RHYNE
March 25, 2025: #8 Lenoir-Rhyne 12 – Concord 4 (Hickory, N.C.)
March 15, 2016: Lenoir-Rhyne 15 – Concord 6, Lenoir-Rhyne 5 – Concord 1 (10) (Beckley, W.Va.)

TOUCH 'EM ALL
Concord blasted five home runs in its four-game series at West Virginia State over the weekend with four of the five coming in game three of the series. Senior infielder Tyson Burke crushed two home runs in game three for his fist career multi-home run game. In fact, Burke did not have a home run in the first 38 games of his career, but now has three in his last five contests. Junior catcher Austin Hear recorded home runs in back-to-back games in the series to take his season total to eight. And fellow junior catcher Kaden Swaim hit his Mountain East Conference-best 13th home run of the year at West Virginia State. CU's 44 home runs are now first in the MEC, two better than Point Park. Burke became the fifth Concord player with a multi-home game this season, joining sophomore infielder Nick DiSanti, Hear, senior outfielder Demetri Jamison and Swaim.

KEEP 'EM IN THE PARK
The CU pitching staff will be tasked with trying to contain one of the top offenses in Division II. Lenoir-Rhyne leads the nation in home runs with 99 this season. Mackenzie Wainwright and Sal Carricato have both tallied 18 home runs this season for the Bears while Cole Stanford is adding 16 long balls. Sophomore pitcher/outfielder Demario Faison has only allowed one long ball in 24.2 innings. Junior pitcher Kerry Collins is up over 25 innings (28.2 innings) and has only surrendered three home runs. And in 19.1 innings, freshman pitcher/outfielder Braylen Baker has only given up two home runs. Lenoir-Rhyne hit four home runs against CU in March. The Mountain Lions are 18-11 this season when allowing less than two home runs in a game.

ANOTHER RANKED FOE
Tuesday will be Concord's ninth game of the season against a nationally-ranked team when Lenoir-Rhyne arrives at Anderson Field. Concord is 2-6 in games against teams in the top 25 national poll in 2025, but both wins came at home in early March against Millersville. CU outhit L-R in the March 25 matchup, 10-8. Burke, senior utility MJ Hunter, graduate infielder Ty Livingston and senior infielder AJ Strickland all had a double in the first meeting this season as ten different Mountain Lions accounted for hits. Concord used nine different pitchers in the contest. Baker provided a scoreless third inning in a relief appearance while sophomore pitcher Mason Kisamore pitched in the middle part of the game as he shut down the Bears for 1.2 innings.

SCOUTING THE BEARS

Lenoir-Rhyne snapped a skid of losing three of four games with a weekend three-game sweep of Tusculum. L-R is seeking to become the first South Atlantic team to hit 100 home runs in a single season. Carricato is top five nationally in RBI with 71 while Wainwright has driven in 60 runs. Lenoir-Rhyne's team batting is .360, fourth in Division II.  Lenoi-Rhyne has hit at least three home runs in 17 games this year.
