RARE AIR
Sophomore pitcher Jake Robinson tossed five shutout innings against Davis & Elkins last Saturday as Concord clinched a series victory over Davis & Elkins, 3-1, with a 13-0 win in game four. It was Concord's fourth shutout of the season which is the most since 2017 when the Mountain Lions also secured four shutouts. Robinson has been the winning pitcher in three of CU's shutouts this season which are the most since Troy Beckner was the pitcher of record in all four shutouts in 2017. The last time the Mountain Lions had more than four shutouts in a season was in 2014 when they collected 10. Robinson was also named the MEC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season. Graduate pitcher Zach Powell started the weekend series against D&E with his 26th career college victory which is now tied for third most among active Division II pitchers. Powell pitched his second straight complete game as he tied his season high with seven strikeouts.

RUN PRODUCERS
Junior catcher Austin Hear had at least one RBI in three of the four games versus Davis & Elkins as he homered in the middle two games of the series. Hear had gone 11 games without a home run before hitting a solo shot in game two against D&E. Meanwhile, junior outfielder Korbin Bostic had five RBI in the final two games of the four-game set, including a three-run home run in the series finale. Bostic who has hit in the middle of the order all season has 29 RBI, and Concord is 13-2 when its cleanup hitter has at least RBI this season. Junior catcher Kaden Swaim starts the weekend tied for second in the MEC in RBI (38). Swaim has 12 multi-RBI games this season. CU is 9-3 when Swaim collects two or more RBI.

KEEP IT GOING
Concord enters the road series at West Virginia Wesleyan having won 19 of the last 20 games against the Bobcats, a mark that dates back to the 2019 season. Even though CU won all four games at Anderson Field last year against WVWC, three of the four games were decided by five runs or less. Senior outfielder Demetri Jamison was 7-for-13 in the series last season with three doubles and five RBI. During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, senior outfielder D.J. Christian Jr. was a combined 14-for-30 against Wesleyan. In 2022, Christian drove in 14 runs in the four-game series. Senior utility MJ Hunter picked up a save on the mound last season versus WVWC as he tossed 2.2 innings to help secure an 11-6 win.
