ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's and women's track & field team travels to the 49er Classic hosted by Charlotte Thursday through Saturday at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.

LAST TIME OUT
The top performances for the Mountain Lion men at Myrtle Beach Challenge came in the distance events. Junior
Alex Irvin was fifth in the 10,000-meter run with a personal-record time of 33:01.84. Sophomore
Bramley Childress was eighth as he crossed in 33:23.85. Sophomore
Braden Ward scored two top-10 finishes. He placed third in the 5,000-meter run with a showing of 15:18.25. He placed sixth in the 3,000-meter run (8:48.05). Senior
Logan Zuchelli was ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as he finished in 9:47.45. Sophomore
Andrew Tickle was 13
th in a time of 10:06.17.
Like the men, some of the top performances for the CU women came in the 10,000-meters. Senior
Madison Cornett was the runner-up in a career-best time of 39:11.20. Sophomore
Sara Turner was seventh in a time of 41:27.02. Junior
Emma Jenkins was third in the 800-meter run as she crossed in 2:27.03. Junior
Katy Walkup stopped the timer at 18:46.68 in the 5,000-meters which was good enough for eighth. Freshman
Cierra Parker just missed the outdoor school record in the high jump as she cleared 1.60 meters and placed 14
th.

Zach Wilson. And after strong outdoor openers last weekend, Ward and Zuchelli are in the 10,000-meters.
Starting with the throwing events for the Mountain Lion women, sophomore

Gracie McAlister and graduate student Abby Wallace are entered in the shot put. Humphrey, junior
Lilly Jackson and McAlister are scheduled to compete in the javelin. The 10,000-meter trio from last week, Cornett, sophomore
Piper Doughton and Turner will be in the 5,000-meters. Graduate student
Emily Wallace makes her season debut in the 3,000-meters Saturday as she is joined in the event by sophomore
Abbey Londeree.
