SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Junior forward Abbie Smith of the Concord University women's basketball team was named an All-Atlantic Region Second team performer by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA), the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

It's the first All-Atlantic Region nod for the Little Hocking, Ohio native in her career after being voted to the All-Mountain East Conference First Team earlier this month.

Smith ranked fourth in the MEC in scoring this winter, netting 17.4 points per game and finished second in the league in rebounding (10.7). She tallied 16 double-doubles in the regular season and logged an 18-point, 15-rebound double-double against Frostburg State in the MEC Tournament Quarterfinals.

She tied her career-best scoring effort at home against West Virginia Wesleyan on January 9 after draining a game-winning buzzer beater from the free throw line for a 30-point game. Smith also recorded a new single-game career-high in rebounds this winter as she grabbed 20 boards in an overtime win over UVa.-Wise November 13. Smith also became the 22nd 1,000-point scorer in program history and currently ranks 11th in school history with 1,367 points scored.

Fairmont State's Leslie Huffman was named Atlantic Region Player of the Year.
