HITTING THE MARK
CU picked up its second-straight victory by defeating Salem in the Carter Center Wednesday, 84-63. With the win, Concord improves to 6-0 on the season when scoring at least 80 points. It was also the first time the Mountain Lions reached the 80-point mark since scoring a season-high 92 points against Fairmont State in the Carter Center December 15. Of the six games scoring at least 80 points, three have come at home and three have come on the road. Additionally, the Maroon and Gray improve to 4-2 this winter when allowing between 60-69 points and 7-3 when scoring at least 20 points off turnovers.

PLENTY TO GO AROUND
To reach the 80-point mark against Salem, Concord saw all five starters score in double figures. Junior forward
Abbie Smith led the way with 18 points and 12 rebounds for her 12
th double-double this season. Senior guard
Skylar Davidson (16) and junior guard
Kennedy Scales (14) made six field goals each, senior guard
Sanaiya Morris Morris netted 13 points along with five steals and four assists, and sophomore guard
Alexis Frazee scored 10 points and knocked down two three-pointers. CU has had five scorers in double figures three different times this winter, but have not had all five starters score in double figures since playing at West Liberty last February.

TURN UP THE HEAT
While the Mountain Lions tied their third-highest point total on offense, they forced 23 SU turnovers on defense. Concord scored its fifth-most points off turnovers, netting 23 points off Salem's mistakes in Wednesday's win. Davidson had the most individual points off turnovers with six, followed by Scales, Frazee, and graduate forward
Trina Lewis with four points each. Of the Tigers' 23 turnovers, 12 were CU steals. Morris picked away a game-high five steals, Davidson came up with three steals, and Frazee swiped two steals.

BREAKOUT PERFORMANCE
Earlier this season when Concord hosted Point Park, sophomore guard
Madison Young drilled a career-high four three-pointers in the contest. The Stokesdale, N.C. native hit two three-pointers in the first quarter and ended her night with two more three-point baskets in the fourth period. Young scored a career-best 14 points in the game in 22 minutes on the floor. On the season, Young leads the Mountain Lions in three-pointers made (23) and three-point percentage (.307) among qualified players. While she has not scored in double figures since the first PPU game, she has grabbed four rebounds and dished out two assists in back-to-back outings off the bench for CU.

OUT FOR REVENGE
Before meeting for the first time as MEC opponents on December 4 in the Carter Center, Concord won the first meeting between the two schools during the 2003-04 season, 56-39, on a neutral floor. The Pioneers waited over 20 years to get their revenge, taking down CU 76-71 in game one of the season series. The Mountain Lions led by two at halftime, but PPU outscored Concord 20-10 in the third quarter and held on for the five-point victory. Smith logged a double-double in the game, scoring 17 points and grabbing 15 boards. Morris went 7-for-8 at the free throw line to tally 15 points, and Young rounded out double-digit scorers with 14.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
After dropping six out of its first seven MEC games, Point Park has won three out of its last five including a 71-65 road win at Glenville State Wednesday. The Pioneers had five players in score in double figures the first time against CU, led by senior guard Aichata Ballo with 18. On the season, junior guard Alexis Giles leads PPU in scoring, averaging 12.3 points per game. Point Park is also the league's second-best defensive rebounding team, bringing down 29.0 defensive boards per game.
