LAST TIME OUT
Two school records were broken at the Bast-Cregger Invite at Roanoke College last weekend—one for the men's program and one for the women's program. Freshman Luke Davis set the initial program record in the indoor heptathlon by scoring 4,132 points over the seven-event program. He now ranks second in the Mountain East Conference in the event. The 4x400-meter relay team of senior Ethan Board, freshman Garrett Kinder, sophomore AJ Skeens and sophomore Braden Ward ran a season-best time of 3:34.25 which converts to 3:30.89 and is fourth in the MEC. Senior Ian Gardner clocked 51.17 seconds in the 400-meter dash to move up to seventh in the conference.

The women's record that went down at Roanoke College was freshman Cassidy Hammonds eclipsing the program mark in the pentathlon by scoring 2,618 points. Junior Katy Walkup ran a career-best time of 10:54.49 in the 3,000-meter run which converts to 10:48.93 and is 14th in the MEC. In field event action, graduate student Abbey Wallace threw a season-best 10.49 meters in the shot put while sophomore Meagan Poticher matched Wallace's mark as Poticher's was a career-best toss. Sophomore Izzy Williams stopped the timer at 1:02.73 to jump into the top 16 of the 400-meter dash in the MEC.

LIBERTY OPEN ENTRIES
CU has just the Liberty Open and next week's Joe LaRocco Invite at Roanoke to make the top 16 in their respective event for the MEC Indoor Championships February 23-24.
A past All-MEC performer in the 5,000-meter run, senior Logan Zuchelli will attempt to get his qualifier in the event this weekend. Zuchelli is seeded at 14:15 with the current MEC cutoff being 15:38. He is joined in the event by junior Alex Irvin (15:50), sophomore AJ Tickle (15:54), sophomore Bramley Childress (15:54) and Skeens (15:57). Already safely in the 800-meter run, Board is seeking to make the mile field as he seeded at 4:22 for the Liberty Open. He races the event this weekend with freshman Reese Hickey (4:43), junior Connor Cormack (4:52), senior Bryce Legg (4:57) and senior Luke Ruhnke (5:18). After a busy meet last weekend, Davis is slated for the 60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump, pole vault and long jump.

Williams seeks to continue her climb up the 400-meter ladder as she gets in the blocks along with freshman Jenna Webb at Liberty. Williams is also scheduled for the 200-meter dash with freshmen Megan Canterbury and Kendall Lilly. Walkup (15th) and senior Madison Cornett (18th) are on the bubble of the 5,000-meter run. The pair is seeded under 19 minutes with the MEC cutoff at 19:23. The trio of Hammonds, junior Lilly Jackson and freshman Cierra Parker look to move up in the long jump. Hammonds is ranked seventh in the MEC, but Jackson (16th) and Parker (21st) need to vault up in the event to assure a spot at the MEC Indoor Championships.
