CONCORD ENTRIES
CU has men's athletes entered in nine different events over the next two days. The Mountain Lions will put three on the start line in the 5,000-meters Sunday evening as senior Logan Zuchelli looks to defend his conference championship from a season ago. Junior Alex Irvin and sophomore Braden Ward join in the 5,000-meters. A multi-time podium finisher in the 400-meter dash in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, senior Ian Gardner will line up in the prelims tomorrow night alongside freshman Brady Prior. The duo is part of Concord's 4x400-meter relay team that is ranked second in the MEC. Senior Ethan Board and freshman Garrett Kinder are also scheduled to appear. Speaking of Board and Kinder, they will be in the 800-meter final Monday evening. Freshman Luke Davis enters the meet ranked second in the MEC in the heptathlon. And after a runner-up finish last year in the 3,000-meters, Zuchelli competes in the event this year along with Ward.
The Mountain Lion women's team has entries into 11 events. The duo of senior Madison Cornett and junior Katy Walkup are both entered in the 3,000-meters and 5,000-meters. A trio of athletes are scheduled for the mile on Monday: junior Emma Jenkins, freshman Kate Kelly and sophomore Sara Turner. CU will be busy in the field events with freshman Cassidy Hammonds and junior Lilly Jackson in the long jump, Jackson and freshman Kendall Lilly in the high jump, sophomore Meagan Poticher and graduate student Abbey Wallace in the shot put and Hammonds in the triple jump. Hammonds will also compete in the two-day pentathlon where she ranks seventh in the MEC. Concord's scheduled distance medley relay of Jenkins, Kelly, Turner and freshman Jenna Webb ranks fifth in the conference and will be on the track tomorrow night.

MOUNTAIN EAST CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
The Mountain Lion men are seeking to improve upon a seventh-place finish from last season. Along with Zuchelli's impressive meet, Board and Ward were on the fourth-place distance medley relay as they just missed a podium finish. The 4x400-meter relay team placed fifth last season, but only Gardner is a returner from the squad during the indoor championships. Zuchelli was on the podium of the 5,000-meters in 2022 as a freshman and finished fourth two years ago.
The CU women also finished seventh at last season's MEC Indoor Championships. Sophomore Izzy Williams scored points in both the 400-meters (fifth) and 200-meters (seventh). Cornett missed scoring in the 3,000-meters by 0.6 seconds while Walkup was 11th. The duo was ninth and 10th in the 5,000-meters. Jenkins was 11th in the mile, and was also on Concord's distance medley relay that placed sixth last winter.
