BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Junior guard
Alexis Frazee of the Concord University women's basketball team has been selected as the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the league office released Monday afternoon.
Frazee, a native of Vincent, Ohio, is this week's MEC Player of the Week along with West Virginia Wesleyan's Emma Witt.
During CU's 1-1 week, Frazee averaged 20.5 points per game while shooting a staggering 68.1 percent from the floor (15-for-22) and 73.3 percent from three-point range (11-for-15). She also averaged three rebounds in a pair of games.
In Concord's 78-64 road win at Point Park, Frazee connected on 5-of-6 three-point attempts as part of her 17 points. As a team, CU made 13 three-pointers at PPU. Frazee's best game of the season came Saturday at nationally-ranked Fairmont State as she netted a season-best 24 points that included a career-best six three-pointers on nine attempts. The 24 points were two shy of her career high set last season at Glenville State.
Frazee's 11 three-pointers during the week vaulted her into a tie for fourth in the MEC in three-pointers (17). And her 2.1 triples per game are second in the conference.
The Mountain Lions are off until January 3 when they host Salem in a non-conference contest.
