GREENWOOD, Ind. – Senior defender
Erik Lotysz of the Concord University men's soccer team has been named a College Sports' Communicator (CSC) First Team Academic All-American, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
Lotysz, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is the first CSC Academic All-American in program history.
In the classroom, Lotysz sports a perfect 4.0 GPA as a computer science major. Since transferring to Concord prior to the fall 2024 semester, Lotysz has been on the Concord's Dean's List twice, and was a member of the All-Mountain East Conference Academic Team at the conclusion of the 2024 fall semester.
On the pitch, Lotysz was part of 28 wins over the last two seasons for the Mountain Lions. Lotysz played in 36 career games with 23 starts while scoring three career goals, all of which came this season. Lotysz was added to the starting lineup after the sixth game of the season in 2025. His first game into the starting lineup—at Wheeling (Sept. 24)—was his first career goal. He added scores at Salem (Oct. 5) and at Davis & Elkins (Oct. 26).
For his efforts, Lotysz was voted to the All-MEC Second Team this past season.
The Concord center back was crucial in the Mountain Lions' win over New Haven in the 2024 NCAA Tournament as he played the final 100 minutes in a 4-2 penalty shootout win. One of Lotysz's 23 career starts came in the NCAA Tournament Second Round versus Charleston last season.
Gannon's Sverre Orten was the CSC Academic All-American Team Member of the Year. The only representatives from the Atlantic Region on the CSC Academic All-American Teams were Lotysz (first), Orten (first), and his Gannon teammate Rafa Hyde (third).
