FOCAL FORWARD
Concord has a massive weapon at the top of its formation as sophomore forward Tiana Campbell was just named MEC Offensive Player of the Year. She racked up a conference-leading 12 goals and 28 points. Campbell also tops the conference in shots (72) and shots on goal (39), as she's applying all sorts of pressure even when the ball doesn't end up in the back of the net. The star forward will search for her first postseason goal on Sunday.
WEBSTER ON THE WING
Senior forward Caitlin Webster has been instrumental in a very successful Concord offense. Webster has dispatched a conference-leading eight assists in 2025, and has tacked on three goals to go with it. Six of her eight assists have come in the last eight games of play, including a two-assist game in the 3-3 draw against Charleston at home. Webster was named All-MEC Honorable Mention for her 2025 performance.
AVENGE THE LOSS
While Concord and Point Park have just met twice in program history, PPU has the most recent win. It came earlier this season on October 15th as the Pioneers took down Concord at home, 2-1. Sophomore forward Taryn Kelly scored her second goal of the season in the defeat. Webster and Campbell assisted on the goal. It was a match that CU controlled for the most part, leading 13-6 in shots and 8-3 in shots on goal. Campbell had six shots with four of them on target in the defeat.Â
SETTING THE STAGE
The Mountain Lions return to the postseason for the ninth straight season. And with a win at Glenville State to wrap up the regular season, it marked the eighth straight 10-win season for CU. In 2024, Concord fell to Fairmont State on the road in a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat. Their last postseason win came in 2023 with a 2-1 victory over West Liberty. Concord last won the MEC Tournament in 2021 and then advanced all the way to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament.Â
SCOUTING THE POINT PARK PIONEERS
Point Park enters the match in good form. The Pioneers haven't lost in their last four matches and are coming off two straight victories. The Pioneers are led by MEC Freshman of the Year, Rebecca Pihlgren who finished the season with 11 goals and five assists. Pihlgren scored the first goal in the 2-1 win over CU and assisted on the second. It was graduate student midfielder
Sterre Kuijper who scored the game-winner and she's second on the team with seven goals. Both Concord and Point Park rank very closely in terms of offensive production and Sunday's match will see some of the best individual talent in the conference.
