BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Junior forward
Jaden McKree of the Concord University men's soccer team has been tabbed the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
McKree, a native of Trincity, Trinidad & Tobago, receives the weekly award nod after scoring his third goal of the season in a crucial 2-1 win over West Liberty.
McKree tallied his game-winning goal in the 60
th minute of Saturday's victory over West Liberty that solidified the Mountain Lions as the number two see for the upcoming MEC Tournament. Senior midfielder
Toby Evens-Gilham assisted on McKree's second game-winning goal of the season.
Monday marked the sixth time this season that Concord has had a player earn MEC weekly laurels.
Frostburg State goalkeeper Jan Foret was the MEC Defensive Player of the Week.
Concord wraps up the regular season with the top team in the MEC and the number-two, nationally-ranked Golden Eagles of Charleston 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Charleston's Welch Athletic Complex.
