SMOOTH MOVES
Concord's starting point guard, sophomore
Kenyah Stubbs, putting on quite a show at the Carter Center against Seton Hill and Lock Haven. Stubbs had a career day against SHU, putting up a career-high 26 points and knocking down 11 field goals. She also showcased her defensive prowess, racking up six steals through the first pair of games which ranks tied for fourth among the MEC. Stubbs' 26 points aided Smith's 29 points as the duo's 55 points were the most for CU teammates since February 2024 when Smith and former Mountain Lion
Skylar Davidson also combined for 55 points at West Liberty.
FROM THE STRIPE
CU found a lot of success from the charity stripe in the opening weekend. They went to the line 59 times, making 45 of their attempts for a clip of 76.3 percent. The Mountain Lions' ability to make free throws was crucial in the 77-68 victory over Lock Haven. In that one, Concord went 29-for-38 on its freebies to help propel the offense. The 29 made free throws were the most since February 2024 at Davis & Elkins, where they went 29-36. Smith went 11-12 and Ziolkowski went a perfect 6-6. As a team, the Mountain Lions have the second most free throw makes and attempts in the conference.
EFFICIENT START
The Maroon and Gray have done a really nice job of being efficient on the offensive end and forcing other teams to be inefficient with their stifling defense. Offensively, Concord has posted a field goal percentage of 45.0 (fourth in the MEC), a three point field goal percentage of 34.4 (third in the MEC), and a free throw percentage of 76.3 (fifth).
