MEG'S MAGIC NUMBER
Junior outside hitter Meg Williams has been instrumental in Concord's success. Concord is undefeated if Williams eclipses 12 kills, a feat she has done in eight matches thus far. She has double-digit kills in 13 matches this season and has racked up nine double-doubles. The only two matches that the Mountain Lions have lost, she finished with eight kills against Rollins and 10 kills at Charleston.
EFFICIENCY IS KEY
The Mountain Lions are a very efficient unit, as they rank second in the MEC in hitting percentage (.198). Individually, middle hitters Jasmine Anderson and
Addison Adkins both sit in the top 10 for individual hitting percentage at .278 and .261 respectively. Where Concord is really able to shine is making their opponents inefficient. They are tied for first with the lowest opponent hitting percentage in the conference with a mark of .140. CU has the biggest margin in terms of hitting percentage (+ 0.058).
GROUNDING THE CARDINALS
Concord has history working against them when it comes to the Wheeling Cardinals. They are 0-32 in series history and took their first set off Wheeling in last season's 3-1 defeat since 1999. Wheeling sits at 5-2 in the MEC North, while Concord holds the best overall record in the conference at 18-2. Junior outside hitter Chloe Thompson racked up 11 kills at Wheeling last season.
JUST KEEP WINNING
The Mountain Lions are off another big winning streak, as they have picked up six straight victories. This upcoming stretch is massive for Concord as it features some quality opponents. After Wheeling, CU faces West Liberty Saturday morning. Concord picked up one of its three wins ever against the Hilltoppers last year in the MEC Tournament. In the five-set quarterfinal matchup in the conference tournament, Williams rolled up 14 kills and 19 digs. Junior libero Allie Davis recorded 30 digs.
SCOUTING THE WHEELING CARDINALS
Wheeling has been a volleyball powerhouse over the decades, claiming an NCAA Division II National Title in 2015. The Cardinals barely hold a losing overall record at 10-11, but have fared well in the conference with a 5-2 record which is tied for first in the MEC North. Junior outside hitter Cami Black leads the Cardinals with 3.20 kills per set which is third highest in the conference.
SCOUTING THE WEST LIBERTY HILLTOPPERS
West Liberty is another really talented team who is tied with Wheeling for first place in the MEC North. They are really finding their form, coming off of three straight 3-0 sweeps. Junior setter Dakoda Keni was just named MEC Offensive Player of the Week after collecting 47 assists in a 3-0 sweep of Wheeling. Junior outside hitter
