ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team defeated West Virginia Wesleyan in dominant fashion, 5-0, Saturday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference game at Callaghan Stadium.

The Concord (10-3, 8-3 MEC) offense began to explode in the 12th minute with senior midfielder
Mahler Santi Possu calmly finishing his eighth goal of the season off a great ball sent in behind the defense from sophomore midfielder
Issa El Assal.

Eighteen minutes later, junior forward
Dominique Malhomme scored for the second straight match with a thunderous finish into the top left corner. Possu gained his second assist of the season after the nice through ball.

The onslaught continued in the 34
th minute when junior forward
Jaden McKree made a great run down the left wing and played in Possu who snuck a shot past the West Virginia Wesleyan (3-8-2, 2-7-1 MEC) keeper to take the lead to 3-0.

CU needed more than 20 minutes of the second half to add to its 3-0 lead in the 68th minute as sophomore midfielder
Keeyan Thomas dribbled through the Bobcat defense and slid a pass to Possu who finished easily for his third career hat trick.

Just 29 seconds later, the Bobcats failed to clear a bobbling ball in front of their keeper and freshman defender
Adam Leibowitz made them pay, smashing it into the top left corner for his second straight game with a goal.

Concord led WVWC in total shots, 17-3, while the Mountain Lion defense held Wesleyan without a shot on goal. All three shots for the Bobcats came in the second half. Possu led the contest with six shots, four of which were on goal. Malhomme and senior midfielder
