ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's and women's track & field teams makes their first-ever trip to Muskingum University for the Muskie Meet Saturday, continuing the indoor season.

Concord posted several personal-best times, particularly in the distance events, at Roanoke College's Finn Pincus Invite. Though not running a career-best time, sophomore
Braden Ward was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:03.63. Sophomores
Bramley Childress (9:16.44) and
Andrew Tickle (9:20.85) as well as junior
Alex Irvin (9:26.72) all posted career-best times. Childress' time of 15:54.71 in the 5,000-meter run was also a personal record. Tickle's time of 16:31.63 and sophomore
Wes Holcomb's showing of 17:33.06 were also personal bests. Senior
Ian Gardner clocked 22.87 seconds in the 200-meter dash as he placed 10
th. Concord's 4x400-meter relay of Gardner as well as freshmen
Landon Meredith,
Aaron Miller and
Brady Prior combined to finish fourth with a time of 3:37.28.
Freshman
Cierra Parker tied the indoor school record in the high jump with a clearance of 1.60 meters, equaling the mark set by Ashleigh Taylor in 2013. Parker was third in the event. Junior
Katy Walkup won the 5,000-meter as her time of 19:10.97 was eight seconds better than the rest of the field. Senior
Madison Cornett clocked 19:59.84, good enough for fourth. Meanwhile, sophomore
Sara Turner finished seventh in 21:17.04. Freshman
Cassidy Hammonds had a leap of 5.12 meters in the long jump which was sixth. Sophomore
Izzy Williams sprinted 8.17 seconds in the 60-meter dash as she finished seventh in the event.
MUSKINGUM MEET ENTRIES
Concord stacks up the 800-meter run this week. Among those with an entry at or below 2:05 are senior
Zach Wilson (1:59), sophomore
AJ Skeens (2:00), Ward (2:01), freshman
Reese Hickey (2:03), freshman Garret Kinder (2:03) and Childress. As many Mountain Lions will be in the mile run, and the seeds go as follow: Ward (4:25), Tickle (4:35), Childress (4:40), Skeens (4:43), Wilson (4:44), Hickey (4:45). Gardner will drop down in distance and compete in the 60-meter dash this weekend along with Prior, freshman
Luke Davis, freshman Xavier Ellison, junior
Ryan Covington, Meredith and Miller. Sophomore
Shawn Bennett, Davis and senior
Jonny Sweeney are all entered in the shot put.
Like the men, the 800-meters and mile highlight action. Junior
Emma Jenkins (2:35), freshman
Kate Kelly (2:35), Cornett (2:42), Turner (2:44) and sophomore
Charlotte McGinnis (2:44) are all entered at or below 2:45). Those seeded at six minutes or less in the mile are Kelly (5:35), Cornett (5:38), Walkup (5:40) Jenkins (5:40), McGinnis (5:55) and junior
Emma Londeree (6:00). Parker and junior
Lilly Jackson are set to compete in the long jump and high jump. Freshman
Kendall Lilly will also be in the high jump while Hammonds has the top mark for Concord in the long jump.
