BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Concord University men's cross country team placed second at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invite Friday morning at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
Concord scored 59 points and defeated East Tennessee State by seven points. Virginia Tech, the only other team in the field, won the meet with 15 points.
Sophomore
Braden Ward paced CU for the second straight meet as he clocked 24:49 for the 8,000-meter course. He finished 18
th, but was eighth in the scoring—after taking out the unattached runners in the field.
Senior
Logan Zuchelli ran 25:07 to place 22
nd, but ninth among scoring runners. Junior
Alex Irvin was next in line for the Mountain Lions as he crossed the tape in 24
th, and was 10
th in scoring. Sophomore
Andrew Tickle finished 29
th (15
th in scoring) in a showing of 25:53. Senior
Ethan Board was 17
th in the scoring (33
rd overall) as he finished in 26:35.
