Concord Places 14th at Dr. Wally Edgell Invite

SNOWSHOE, W.Va. - The Concord University men's golf team finished 14th at the Dr. Wally Edgell Invite hosted by Davis & Elkins at The Raven Golf Club that was contested Monday and Tuesday.
 
The Mountain Lions shot a team total of 319 in the opening round followed by totals of 331 and 326 in rounds two and three. 
 
Freshman Jonah Willson was the best finisher for Concord placing 27th in the field. Wilson tied his season-best 76 in the first round followed by rounds of 77 and 79 for a 232 (+16) total. 
 
Senior Indiana Eades moved up five spots in the final round to place 53rd. Eades got the tournament underway with a 77 in round one and made his move with a 79 in round three. 
 
Freshman Kelly Pimenov II (253) and senior Peyton Watts (254) finished within one shot of each other. Both Pimenov and Watts carded six birdies as Pimenov had three birdies in round one and Watts sank four birdies in round two. 
 
Other participants for CU include freshman Coltan Farrell who finished at +45. 
 
Charleston's Carlos Fernandez Mortera was a top a crowded leaderboard as he finished at 218 for the 54-hole tournament, but 12 others were within four strokes of the lead. Charleston won the team competition over Davis & Elkins by six strokes, 883-889.
