ELKINS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team fought back with a late goal as it played to a 1-1 draw against Davis & Elkins at Nuttall Field Sunday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference.
The Mountain Lions (2-0-1, 2-0-1 MEC ) watched D&E (3-0-1, 2-0-1 MEC) go up 1-0 in the 25
th minute, despite Concord controlling the early part of the game. CU held a 6-3 advantage in shots over the first 45 minutes.
Sophomore forward
Syrus Conolly had the first chance in the second half to tie the game as his attempt in the 49
th minute sailed high of the goal. Junior defender
Ted Roberts was denied a goal in the 58
th minute on a save by the Senators.
Later on, junior forward
Richard Henry found himself on a counter attack in the 75
th minute, but his sharp-angled shot from 10 yards out was left of the target.
However, CU broke through in the 83
rd minute.
After a Concord throw in, junior forward
Malher Santi Possu sent a cross from the goal line back into the middle of the 18-yard box. Junior forward
Patrick Alouidor controlled possession after a touch, and netted his first goal of the season with a shot to the low left corner of the goal.
Alouidor had the Mountain Lions' final shot of the afternoon—a shot off target in the 87
th minute.
Concord outshot the Senators 12-7 for the game, but only had a 5-4 edge in shots on goal.
Henry posted three shots on the day while Alouidor and senior midfielder
Fabian Amhof each had two attempts.

Miguel Oliveria saved three shots in 78 minutes after relieving fellow junior goalkeeper
Nathan Scargill.
The Mountain Lions conclude their two-game road trip at West Virginia Wesleyan 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
