SALUTE TO SENIORS
Between games of Friday's doubleheader, head coach Kevin Garrett and the program will honor ten seniors: pitcher Dalton Benson, pitcher Eddie Blake, infielder Michael Dupont, infielder Daniel Layne, outfielder Caleb Moats, pitcher Andrew Neff, pitcher Nick Sanso infielder Chris Satcher, infielder Zack Saryeldin and infielder Bryce Turner. Since the shortened pandemic season of 2020, the senior class has combined to win 109 games with Dupont, Neff, Sanso and Saryeldin being on the 2020 squad. Blake and Satcher came to Concord in 2021 while Layne was recruited to the program for the 2022 season. Benson, Moats and Turner were transfers prior to the 2023 campaign. Blake and Neff are both top 10 in program history in innings, strikeouts and wins. Neff is the all-time wins (29) and strikeouts leader at CU (284). Blake is up over 200 strikeouts (218) and has 19 career wins. Satcher is top 10 in program history in both home runs (29) and RBI (148). Saryeldin has spots staked out in the top 10 in home runs (24), RBI (147), runs (188), hits (241) and doubles (59).

GROWING UP
In a four-game series at Charleston last weekend, freshman pitcher Jake Robinson put together the best pitching performance of his young career. The Raleigh, North Carolina native tossed six shutout innings and struck out five while holding the MEC's third-best offense to five hits. Robinson's previous best outing was against Davis & Elkins when he allowed two runs (one earned) over seven innings versus the Senators April 8. Robinson is just outside the top 10 in ERA in the MEC at 4.91 and his 42 strikeouts are tied for 15th.

SERIES REWIND
The Mountain Lions swept a doubleheader at Glenville State last season before the return games in Athens were washed out and not made up on the final day of the regular season in 2023. In an 11-4 game one win, junior utility MJ Hunter and Saryeldin were both 2-for-3 with a double. Hunter drove in two runs while Saryeldin added an RBI. Neff tossed six innings as he struck out four and allowed three runs. In the 5-1 nightcap victory, junior pitcher Rylee Nicholas was sharp as he struck out a career-best 10 GSU hitters and allowed a run on three hits over six innings. Sophomore utility Dawson Gragg provided a spark in the top of the eighth with a go-ahead grand slam which was also the first home run of his career.
