Game 1: Davis & Elkins 4 – Concord 3
Four runs by Davis & Elkins in its first two at-bats was too much for CU to overcome.
The Mountain Lions broke the ice in the top of the first as an RBI single by freshman infielder
Kendall Morgan brought in senior outfielder
Imani Campbell who had reached on an error earlier in the frame.
D&E came right back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first and added two more tallies in the second on a two-run home run, though the three-run lead was short-lived.
A run-scoring base hit in the top of the third from sophomore pitcher/infielder
Madison Hollis brought in junior utility
Kylee Stacy who had led off the frame with her own single.
The 4-2 margin remained until the Maroon and Gray struck in the top of the sixth. A single and stolen base from junior outfielder
Kayla McCraw pushed her into scoring position with one out. Another base hit moved McCraw onto third base before a double steal between McCraw and Stacy reduced the deficit to 4-3.
Representing the tying run, Hollis singled with one out in the top of the seventh, but was left stranded on first to end the game.
Junior infielder
Courtney Raines was 2-for-3. Hollis and Stacy also had two hits apiece with Stacy scoring a run, and Hollis recording an RBI.
Freshman pitcher
Josi Ervin (4-5) allowed four earned runs over 1.2 innings. Hollis tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless relief.
Game 2: Davis & Elkins 9 – Concord 4
The Mountain Lions saw D&E produce early offense as it led 6-1 after two innings.
Concord jumped out to 1-0 lead after its first at-bat as Stacy raced in on a fielder's choice.
However, two home runs in the bottom of the first gave Davis & Elkins a 3-1 advantage. The Senators plated three more runs in the second as the 6-1 margin stayed the same until the sixth inning.
With two runners in scoring position, McCraw blasted an opposite field home run to right field to trim the deficit to 6-4. It McCraw's third home run of the season. Sophomore catcher
Morgan Gleason singled following the home run to bring the tying run to the plate, but D&E escaped with the two-run margin still in hand.
The Senators, then, produced three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
McCraw was responsible for three RBI. Hollis added an RBI in the first inning. Stacy reached base three times with two hits and a walk. Gleason went 2-for-3 while Raines was 2-for-4.
