ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University softball team will host two teams atop the Mountain East Conference North Division in doubleheaders, taking on Frostburg State Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and Fairmont State Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the CU Softball Field.

Nancy-Jo Roberts picked up her 10
th victory of the season in the circle in game two against Wheeling Monday. Across her seven innings pitched, Roberts only allowed three hits and no walks on her way to earning the complete game shutout. It was the third complete game shutout for Roberts in 2024 and the seventh in her career. Roberts also pitched 4.1 innings in relief against West Liberty Sunday, allowing two runs but both were unearned. She has not allowed an earned run in four of her last five outings and becomes the seventh pitcher in the MEC to reach double-digit wins as she goes into Saturday at 10-5.

KEEP SWINGIN'
The Mountain Lions racked up 29 hits over the weekend against West Liberty and Wheeling, notching 7.25 base hits per game in four games. CU owns the MEC's fourth best batting average, hitting .292 as a team with a slugging percentage of .406. Five Mountain Lions collected multiple hits in game one against WLU, with sophomore first baseman
Morgan Cline hitting a double and a home run to bring home three of Concord's nine runs. In game two against Wheeling, senior outfielder

The Bobcats enter Saturday with a .322 team batting average and winners of its last seven MEC games. Senior pitcher Jamie Roberts leads the Bobcats with a .414 batting average and is tied for the league lead with nine home runs. FSU has hit 27 home runs this season, the second-most in the MEC. Concord leads the all-time series 4-3, but five of the seven games played between the Mountain Lions and Bobcats have been decided within three runs.

Fairmont State owns the MEC's second-best offense with a .335 average and slugging a collective .472. Sophomore outfielder Bella Hess (.478) and senior infielder Emily Riggs (.401) fall inside the top 10 in the conference for batting average. In the circle, freshman pitcher/infielder Delaney Haller has the second-lowest ERA in the league (1.22), only allowing 18 earned runs across 103.0 innings of work. The Mountain Lions have won four of the last five meetings between the two in schools in Athens.
