HITS, HITS AND MORE HITS
In a doubleheader sweep of West Liberty Saturday afternoon, Concord tallied 15 hits in back-to-back games as it picked up 10-2 and 12-5 wins over the Hilltoppers. It marked the first time this season that CU had 15 or more hits in consecutive games and was the first since the 2022 MEC Tournament that the Maroon and Gray had 15 or more hits in back-to-back contests. Senior infielder Chris Satcher tallied three hits in each game Saturday as he raised his average to a season-best .394, second on the team. Fifth-year senior infielder Zack Saryeldin registered multiple hits in both games against West Liberty. As a team, Concord is hitting .303 for the year after collecting 40 hits in the final three games of the weekend against Wheeling and West Liberty.

ON THE BUMP
Junior pitcher Rylee Nicholas put together his second straight stellar pitching performance as he limited a potent WLU offense to two runs and four hits in a complete game. Nicholas did not allow a hit until the fifth inning in picking up his 14th career win, one away from joining the top 10 in program history. Over his last 13.2 innings, Nicholas has allowed just four earned runs and 10 total hits. In the second game versus WLU, freshman pitcher Jake Robinson notched his first collegiate win as he held West Liberty to two runs on four hits over six innings. Among qualified Concord pitchers, Robinson has the best opponent batting average at .253. Graduate pitcher Eddie Blake needs four more strikeouts to reach 200 for his career.

BREAK OUT THE LONG BALL
The Mountain Lions picked up a 9-7 victory over Emory & Henry March 12 to snap a brief two-game losing streak against the Wasps. CU was able to get the win despite giving up three home runs to E&H as it neutralized the long ball with home runs from freshman catcher Marshall Basham and Saryeldin. Concord hit two home runs in each game versus West Liberty as Saryelin homered in back-to-back games. Junior outfielder Demetri Jamison has hit three home runs in his last six games, and Satcher bagged his 20th career home run Friday, tied for 10th in program history. Along with the homers at E&H last month, junior utility MJ Hunter was 3-for-6 at the top of the lineup.

SCOUTING THE WASPS
Jared Foley, who hit his only home run of the season versus Concord, bats .364 on the year, collecting a team-best 48 hits. Jacob Bebber and Noah Mazza also tallied homers against Concord in March. Anthony Umbach is batting .291 with a team-high 19 RBI. Jack Swarbrick is 1-2 on the mound, but has 31 strikeouts in 24 innings. Emory & Henry won two out of three games over the weekend against mutual opponent UVa.-Wise.
