3/28/2024 12:00:00 PM

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Concord University football team in conjunction with the Mountain East Conference office has announced the scheduled for the 2024 season.

The Mountain Lions are slated for 11 games this fall with six games inside Callaghan Stadium and five road contests. Two non-conference games get the season started with nine MEC games to follow.

For the first time since 1980, Concord and Bluefield State will renew their rivalry on the gridiron when the Mountain Lions host BSU September 7 at Callaghan Stadium. The second non-conference game will also be at home as CU takes on another regional rival in UVa.-Wise September 14.

League action gets underway for the Maroon and Gray the following week at Frostburg State (September 21) and the season's first month closes with a home contest against defending MEC Champion Charleston September 28.

Back-to-back road games await Concord to begin October as it travels to West Liberty (October 5) and West Virginia State (October 12).

After consecutive road games, CU culminates Homecoming Weekend October 19 versus Glenville State.

The following week will be a trip to West Virginia Wesleyan. And the final road contest of the season will be at Fairmont State November 2.

A pair of home games conclude the regular season for the Mountain Lions as they host Wheeling November 9 and UNC Pembroke November 16 at Callaghan Stadium.

Kickoff times and possible Thursday night games will be announced later in the spring or early summer.
