GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Concord University men's basketball team was unable to overcome a tough shooting afternoon as it lost 80-61 to Glenville State in a Mountain East Conference game at the Waco Center Saturday.
CU (21-6, 14-6 MEC) was limited to 26.9 percent shooting in the contest.
Concord jumped out to a 13-6 lead after senior guard

Glenville State was able to open up a 28-21 lead, the largest advantage of the first half for the Pioneers, but the Mountain Lions outscored GSU 8-2 over the final 3:19 of the first half to close the deficit to 30-29 at the intermission.
The first three minutes of the second half featured four of the seven lead changes in the game. Neither team led by more than two possessions until Glenville State opened up a 53-46 edge with 9:54 remaining.

JJ Harper, CU was back to within two, 53-51. But, Glenville State went on an 11-0 run to pull away from Concord.
Harper led the Maroon and Gray in scoring with 13 points and a career-best 12 rebounds. Diop also registered a double-double with 12 points, spurred by an 8-for-10 showing at the foul line, to go with 10 rebounds.
Boston and Wooden each netted nine points.
Concord outrebounded the Pioneers by one, 53-52, and held GSU under 40 percent shooting at 39.0 percent.
The Mountain Lions now turn their attention towards the MEC Tournament as they are scheduled to play Davis & Elkins 2:30 p.m. Friday at WesBanco Arena in the quarterfinal round.
