ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's basketball team is tied for seventh in the latest release of the D2CSC Atlantic Region Poll, the organization released Monday morning.
The Mountain Lions jumped two spots as it was tied with West Virginia State with 20 points. CU is 13-4 after wins over Fairmont State and Frostburg State in the past week.
Gannon (58 points and four first-place votes) and East Stroudsburg (55 points and two first-place votes) flipped spots at the top of the poll. Charleston (46 points) was third with California (Pa.) (45) checking in at fourth. Millersville (35) completed the top five.
Teams six through nine were tightly bunched with West Liberty (21) claiming sixth ahead of Concord and WVSU. Fairmont State (18) was ninth. And Indiana (Pa.) (eight) was the final team in this week's rankings.
Concord starts a busy week of games when it travels to Mercer County rival Bluefield State 7:30 p.m. Monday. CU will be at Notre Dame 7:30 p.m. Wednesday before returning home to face Salem 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
