Senior pitcher
Nancy-Jo Roberts was selected as the Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week for her performance in game two of Sunday's home doubleheader against Virginia Union. Roberts struck out a career-best nine batters across five innings in the 11-0 victory, only allowing three hits and walking two. The Saltville, Va. native earned her second win on the season, with the first coming in game two against UVa.-Wise where she allowed four hits and five runs in seven innings of work. Roberts has pitched a complete game in two of her three starts this season, raising her career total to 20 complete games in 31 games pitched. Â

HOT START
CU is off a hot start, as its 5-1 record is the best six-game start to a season since 2014. After dropping their season-opening game at Tusculum, the Mountain Lions have won five straight for the first time since April 2022. Offensively, Concord is averaging 8.4 runs per game during the stretch. Through its opening three series, CU is second in the MEC in team batting average, (.341), as well as runs scored (44). In the circle, the Mountain Lions have struck out 36 batters and are holding opponents to .277 at the plate.

With Concord's offense heating up, junior infielder
Kylee Stacy has also caught fire. The Green Cove Springs, Fla. native was hitting .307 (4-for-13) before the home-opening doubleheader against Virginia Union. In game one against the VUU, Stacy was a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish and scored two runs at the top of the Mountain Lions order. In game two, she went 2-for-3 at the plate and stole two bases. After Sunday, Stacy now leads qualified CU hitters with a .500 bating average with four runs batted in and a pair of triples. On the base path, she ranks third in the MEC and first on the team with five stolen bags.

Belmont Abbey heads into Friday's games at 5-3 overall and winning both games of a doubleheader at Augusta. Junior pitcher Erin Gill is 3-1 in the circle with a 2.86 ERA. Senior pitcher Adison Yoder has started five games this season, earning two wins and only allowing two walks in 23.2 innings pitched. Offensively, senior first/third baseman Mackenzie Allison leads the Crusaders with a .478 batting average and a .512 on-base percentage.

WSSU opened its season at the SIAC/CIAA challenge and opens its home schedule Thursday against Mount Olive. Junior utility Malia Simmons leads the Rams with a .444 batting average and has driven in a team-best seven RBI. Junior infielder Tyeisha Gist and sophomore utility Aniyah Jackson share the team lead with seven stolen bases each. Senior pitcher BreAnna Steele has struck out 13 batters in 19.0 innings.
