AUSTIN, Texas – Senior forward Sydney Tucker of the Concord University women's soccer team has been named as a First Team Academic All-American as presented by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.

Tucker becomes the fourth Academic All-American in program history, joining the trio of Zoe Belding, Leah Foster and Yasmin Mosby.

Tucker garners a spot on the Academic All-American First Team after her standout season on the soccer pitch to go along with her excellence in the classroom during her college career. The Raleigh, North Carolina native carries a 3.88 GPA in the classroom as a biology major. She has been on Concord's Dean's List all six semesters of her undergraduate career.

Additionally, Tucker was on the Concord Athletic Director's Honor Roll in the fall of 2023 and has twice been on the All-MEC Academic Team.

Away from the classroom, Tucker followed up her breakout season from 2023 with an All-American campaign in 2024. She was named a Third Team All-American by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) that was preceded by honors as the Mountain East Conference and the Atlantic Region Player of the Year. Tucker finished top 10 in Division II in goals (16) and top 15 in points (36) this fall.

Tucker was a repeat selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team earlier this fall after she earned the same honor in 2023.

Anna Lantz of Rockhurst University was voted as the CSC Academic All-American Team Member of the Year. Frostburg State's Cat Smith joined Tucker on the Academic All-American First Team.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.
