ATHENS, W.Va. – Junior defender
Kai Forsyth of the Concord University men's soccer team has been selected to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Atlantic Region Second Team for the second consecutive season.
Forsyth captained the Mountain Lions to their first NCAA Tournament appearance as CU advanced to the second round of the national tournament after a penalty shootout win over New Haven. During the season, the Derby, England native scored two goals and registered four assists.
He scored goals in non-conference games against Salem and Emory & Henry. Three of his four assists came in the final month of the season as he notched assists against Point Park, Davis & Elkins and Charleston.
Defensively, he helped Concord to five shutouts during the season in his 20 starts from his center back position.
Wednesday's announcement marks the second straight year that Forsyth has been a consensus all-region selection, the first in program history.
