Complete Release
INDIANAPOLIS – The Concord University men's soccer team appeared in the second release of the NCAA Division II Super Region One Rankings, the NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon.
CU was slotted tenth in the second release, but this was the first rankings that have placed teams with a numerical value.
Wednesday's win over Charleston is not reflected in this week's ranking. Concord was 13-2-2 before the victory.
However, Charleston took the top spot followed by a pair of Northeast-10 schools, Southern New Hampshire and Franklin Pierce. Two PSAC teams occupied fourth and fifth in Bloomsburg and Gannon. Felician was sixth, Adelphi was seventh and Post was eight. Mercy and Concord rounded out the top 10. New Haven and Seton Hill were outside the top 10 in 11th and 12, respectively.
Five conferences, the Mountain East Conference, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, East Coast Conference, Northeast-10 and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, make up Super Region One in men's soccer.
At season's end, the five conference tournament champions and five best at-large teams will advance to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
The Mountain Lions' next game will be in the MEC Semifinals Wednesday, November 13 at Callaghan Stadium. CU's opponent will be known after the completion of the Sunday's quarterfinal round.
