DOUBLE TROUBLE
In Tuesday's contest versus West Virginia State, Concord received double-doubles from junior forwards
Imani Hickman and
Abbie Smith. For Hickman, it was her first career double-double as she finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Meanwhile, Smith bagged her 26
th career double-double which is tied for 17
th in Division II among active players. The Little Hocking, Ohio native finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double in six games this season. Tuesday marked the first time that Concord has had two players record double-doubles in the same game since last December when Smith and former Concord standout
Jaisah Smith tallied double-doubles at home versus Frostburg State. After Tuesday, Smith leads the Mountain East Conference in rebounding (11.3 per game).
MILESTONES APPROACHING
After 11 points versus West Virginia State, Smith is 27 points shy of her 1,000 for her career. When reaching 1,000 points, she would become the 22
nd player in program history to obtain the milestone. Additionally, Smith is 28 rebounds shy of 600 for her career as she is bearing down on the top 10 all-time at CU. Jacqueline Kestner (2011-15) is 10
th on the rebounding list at Concord with 649. Meanwhile, senior guard
Skylar Davidson recently went over 150 career assists as a Mountain Lion. Counting her two years at Glenville State, Davidson is 14 assists shy of 300 for her career.
BENCH ENERGY
Graduate guard
Trina Lewis and junior guard
Kalyn Williams put together their best games as Mountain Lions in the loss to West Virginia State. A transfer from Ferrum College, Lewis came off the bench to score a career-best 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting as she made her only three-point attempt late in the game to trim CU's deficit to 66-63 before the seven-point defeat. Prior to Tuesday, the Peoria, Arizona native had only scored seven points in the first five games of the year. Also in a reserve role, Williams, a junior college transfer, scored a career-high nine points to go with a team-best five steals and four rebounds in 11 minutes versus West Virginia State. Like Lewis, Williams had also only netted seven points this year before Tuesday's performance.
HOLD 'EM DOWN
For the second straight game, Concord limited the opposition to less than 40 percent shooting as West Virginia State only made 36.5 percent of its shots, a season low for a CU opponent. Dating back to last season, the Maroon and Gray has limited teams to less than 40 percent shooting in six of the last 10 games. Additionally, Concord also held WVSU—a team that makes just over nine three-pointers per game—to three made three-pointers and a shooting percentage of 17.6 from beyond the arc Tuesday afternoon. Only Seton Hill, in the second game of the year, has shot above 35 percent from three-point range against the Mountain Lions this season. CU's 27.1 percent three-point defense is fifth in the MEC.
GO GET ANOTHER
Concord has won two of its last three games versus nationally-ranked teams with wins over West Virginia State last November and a victory over Fairmont State at the end of January. WVSU was rated 13
th in Division II while Fairmont was 19
th at the time of CU's win. The Mountain Lions begin the Tampa Thanksgiving Tournament by facing a Spartans' team that is currently eighth in the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) Division II Top 25. In Concord's 84-66 victory over Fairmont State, Smith had a huge game with 26 points and 10 rebounds to go with a pair of blocks and steals. Although only scoring four points, Davidson affected the game with nine rebounds and seven assists. Davidson put together a similar line in the 70-57 win at West Virginia State just over a year ago with three points, a career-best 10 rebounds and five assists. Smith had 13 points and 11 rebounds at West Virginia State.
TOUGH SLEDDING
While the Mountain Lions have been stingy on the defensive end in recent games, Tampa hangs its hat on limiting the opposition on the scoreboard. The Spartans' 53.5 points allowed per game are 35
th in Division II while the opponent field goal percentage of 33.7 is top 30 in the nation. Meanwhile, Concord is just outside the top 40 in Division II in scoring per game, averaging 76.8 points per game. The Mountain Lions are 3-0 this season when they score 80 or more points and 0-3 when held under 80 points. Dating back to the start of last year, Concord is 10-5 in games where it scored 80 or more points.
OFFENSIVE EFFICIENCY
The second opponent in Florida, Saint Leo, is a stark contrast to Tampa. The Lions are averaging just shy of 80 points per game and shooting 47.7 percent from the field as a team. SLU is well balanced with five players averaging double figures, led by freshman Vanessa McManus who is dumping in 17.8 points per game. Like the scoring offense, Concord is 3-1 this year and 18-5 over the last two seasons when holding teams under 80 points. Saint Leo has shot at least 43 percent from the field in all four games, and in three of the four games the Lions have shot 33 percent or better from three-point range.

Surrounding the freshman standout McManus is Alanis Diaz (12.8 points), Taydra Simpson (10.8 points) Chynna Mattair (10.5 points) and Jumoke Adaramoye (10.3 points) who all average double figures. Saint Leo has won three of its four games by double figures. While the Lions overwhelm teams with their scoring, SLU's scoring defense of 58.2 points per game is still in the top 7
