WHEELING, W.Va. – The Concord University women's cross country team finished seventh at the Mountain East Conference Championship Saturday morning on the Crispin Golf Course at Oglebay Resort.
Concord scored 175 points. Davis & Elkins won the meet with 41 points.
Senior
Madison Cornett earned All-MEC Second Team for the second straight season by finishing 20
th with a time of 23:43 for the 6,000-meter course. Junior
Katy Walkup just missed another All-MEC Second Team performance as she placed 22
nd in a showing of 24:05.
Junior
Emma Jenkins clocked 25:34 to finish 42
nd. Sophomore
Charlotte McGinnis was five spots behind Jenkins as she clocked 26:20. The final scoring runner for CU was sophomore
Abbey Londeree who finished 53
rd with a time of 26:40.
Freshman
Kate Kelly and sophomore
Sara Turner both crossed the finish line in 26:52 as they placed 56
th and 57
th, respectively. Completing the Mountain Lion field was freshman

The individual winner was Lauren Twyman of Davis & Elkins.
Both the MEC Runner and Freshman of the Year went to Point Park's Cassandra O'Connor. Davis & Elkins head coach Jason Pyles was the MEC Coach of the Year.
Concord's next competition will be the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championship at Lock Haven University November 9.
