Tucker Picks Up MEC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Senior forward Sydney Tucker of the Concord University women's soccer team has been pegged as the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the league office released Monday afternoon.

Tucker, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, is lauded with the weekly honor after recording four goals during a 2-0 week for the Mountain Lions.

Tucker was responsible for CU's lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Point Park Wednesday afternoon at home as she scored in the first 15 minutes of the contest. She returned on Sunday to help lift Concord to an 8-3 win at West Liberty by netting her third hat trick of the year. She posted goals in the 10^th, 14^th and 62^nd minutes of the victory.

With her performances over the past week, Tucker has now scored in five straight games, a first for any Concord player since 2021. Additionally, she is tied for second in Division II with 13 goals and is one of two players in the country with at least three hat tricks this fall, joining Clayton State's Carrie Consolino.

Wheeling goalkeeper Olivia Kqira is this week's MEC Defensive Player of the Week.
