Davis Voted MEC Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Sophomore defensive specialist Allie Davis of the Concord University volleyball team has been named Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Week presented by The Health Plan for the first time in her career, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Davis, a native of Jonesborough, Tenn., racked up a total of 46 digs across three Mountain Lions victories on the week. Additionally, she logged eight assists and served one ace. All three games only went three sets with Davis averaging 5.1 digs per set in those contests, bringing her season average up to 4.76.

Davis now ranks second in the MEC and falls inside the top 50 nationally in digs per set. On the season, she has nine games with at least 20 digs, surpassing last year's mark of eight.

Charleston's Riley Hoff earned MEC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
