PIPESTEM, W.Va. – For the fifth straight time, the Concord University men's cross country team was victorious at the Concord Alumni Invite Friday afternoon at Pipestem State Park.
Concord scored 23 points to edge out Davis & Elkins by nine points for the win.
Two Concord All-Americans Jason Weitzel and Issac Prather were first and second for the CU Alumni Team as they both broke 25 minutes for the 8,000-meter course as Weitzel edged out Prather for the win (24:57-24:58).
Sophomore
Braden Ward was third, but first in the scoring as he crossed in 25:56. Senior
Logan Zuchelli followed closely behind as he clocked 26:09 for fourth. Senior
Ethan Board was seventh (five points), running 26:25. Junior
Alex Irvin was five seconds off Board's pace in eighth.
The final scoring runner for the Mountain Lions was sophomore
Andrew Tickle who placed 12
th with a showing of 26:39.

Reese Hickey (17
th/27:39) and senior
Zach Wilson (19
th/27:42) were all in the top 20. Freshman
Brandon Canaday just missed the top 20 with a showing of 27:56 in 21
st.
Junior
Connor Cormack (23
rd/29:14) and sophomore
Garrett Hatcher (27
th/29:58) both broke 30 minutes.

Concord turns its attention to the Mountain East Conference Championship Saturday, October 26 at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia.
