BECKLEY, W.Va.- The Concord University women's soccer team ran past West Virginia Wesleyan, 7-0, Friday afternoon in a Mountain East Conferenced game at the YMCA Cline Complex.
The Mountain Lions (5-2-1, 5-1 MEC) got the scoring started in the eighth minute as freshman midfielder
Wilma Hedenberg broke the ice for a second straight game. Sophomore midfielder
Reeanna Cook doubled the CU lead in the 14
th minute as she headed in a corner kick by graduate forward
Alexa Todd.
Todd would be responsible for the third Concord goal after she was taken down in the WVWC (1-7, 0-6 MEC) penalty area in the 19
th minute. She found the back of the net for her second goal of the season on the ensuing penalty kick.
The 3-0 lead stood up at halftime.

Olivia Bekeleski netted her second goal of the fall in the 54
th minute, shooting from the top left corner of the 18-yard box. Junior forward
Kylene Franklin scored the fifth CU goal before assisting on the sixth and seventh tallies of the afternoon.

Sydney Tucker recorded her team-best fifth goal of the season in the 84
th minute, and freshman midfielder
Caitlyn Martin scored her first collegiate goal in the 88
th minute.
CU finished its three-game homestand by outscoring Glenville State, Fairmont State and Wesleyan 21-2. The 21 goals in a three-game span are the most for the Mountain Lions since posting 21 from October 27-November 3, 2021.
Concord owned a 24-4 margin in total shots in the game, and put 15 attempts on frame.

Sarah Pattillo saved the only two Wesleyan shots that came her way.
Todd led CU in shots with six while Franklin and Tucker each had four.
The Mountain Lions travel to Notre Dame 12:00 p.m. Sunday.
