SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Concord University women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie against Notre Dame Sunday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference contest at Mueller Field.
The Mountain Lions (5-2-2, 5-1-1 MEC) owned an 11-9 edge in shots in the game, and needed three saves from sophomore goalkeeper
Sarah Pattillo to ensure they earned a point on Sunday.
After a scoreless 45 minutes, CU had a pair of chances in the middle part of the second half.
In a 3-on-3 situation, graduate defender
Olivia Bekeleski ripped a shot from the top of the penalty area in the 65
th minute that was saved. Three minutes later, junior forward
Sydney Tucker put a shot on target from the left edge of the penalty box.
One of the three saves from Pattillo came in the 72
nd minute as she dove to her right to keep the game scoreless after Notre Dame (4-2-3, 3-2-1 MEC) had gained some momentum.
The last chance for the Mountain Lions was in the 82
nd minute as Tucker's long distance shot was high and wide left of the goal net.
Bekeleski had three shots on the day while all three attempts from graduate forward
Alexa Todd were on goal. Tucker added two shots off the bench.
Concord took two of the game's three corner kicks.
CU returns home to face Wheeling 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in an MEC game at the YMCA Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia.
