BACK IN THE GROOVE
After losing 3-0 at Charleston Wednesday afternoon, the Mountain Lions start a season-long three-game homestand Sunday versus Glenville State, a team it has never lost to in 10 contests. The three consecutive games at the YMCA Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia will be the longest home stretch for CU since three straight at home to end the 2017 season. Concord's 3-0 Wednesday defeat was the largest margin for a CU opponent since last year at Fairmont State. CU won both meetings against Glenville State last season, outscoring the Pioneers a combined 8-0. Of the three goals scored by Concord at home was a tally by sophomore midfielder Reeanna Cook finding the back of the net in the 29th minute.

SCORERS APLENTY
Junior midfielder Nora Voisey was responsible for three of the five goals scored by the Mountain Lions at Glenville State last season as the Clarksville, Ohio native recorded her first career hat trick. Voisey tallied her first goal of 2023 in a 5-1 win at Davis & Elkins Sunday afternoon. In 10 all-time meeting against GSU, five different Mountain Lions have logged hat tricks with Voisey being the only active player. Junior midfielder Anna Davis scored against the Pioneers two seasons ago at home in a 6-0 victory. Seven different players have already scored this season for the Maroon and Gray.

RIVALRY BREWING
While Concord has won eight times against Fairmont State in 12 all-time meetings, the two programs are established as top tier teams in each of the MEC's two divisions. CU and FSU have met three times in the last four MEC Tournaments with CU winning each time. However, Fairmont State won the 2022 MEC Tournament Championship. Though FSU won 3-0 at home last season, Concord eliminated Fairmont State from the 2021 MEC Tournament with a 2-1 win. The last regular-season meeting between the Mountain Lions and Fighting Falcons in Beckley resulted in a 0-0 draw in October 2021. Concord owned a 25-5 shot advantage in the game.
