WHEELING, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie against Wheeling Sunday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference contest at Bishop Schmitt Field.
Both goals in the game were in the final five minutes as the Mountain Lions (1-0-3, 0-0-3 MEC) struck first in the 85
th minute.

Fabian Amhof crashing towards the net for Amhof's third goal of the season.
The lead, however, was short lived as Wheeling (0-4-1, 0-2-1 MEC) scored 88 seconds later in the 86
th minute off a free kick that was headed into the back of the net.
Both teams had a single chance in the waning minutes of the game as junior midfielder
Andre Nicholson took one of his five shots on the afternoon in the 87
th minute, but the attempt was saved.
The sides had opportunities aplenty as the contest featured 39 total shots with CU holding a 20-19 edge. Of those 39 shots, only 11 were on target with the Mountain Lions also holding a one-shot advantage, 6-5.
Kelly and Nicholson both registered five shots for Concord while Amhof fired three on target.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Keegan Grant made four saves as the CU defense saw a streak of 313 scoreless minutes come to an end.
The Mountain Lions return to the YMCA Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia to host Charleston 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.
